In 2005, Kiyo moved to New York as a chef and began opening restaurants in the area. In 2009, he produced the exclusive restaurant "BOHEMIAN NEW YORK," successfully leading it to acclaim. Following that, in 2012, he expanded "BROOKLYN RIBBON FRIES" to Tokyo, gaining attention for its unique fried potatoes and homemade ginger ale. In 2016, he opened "TAKUMEN" in Long Island City, New York, successfully promoting Japanese izakaya culture in the U.S. Most recently, in November 2023, he opened "Taku Sando" in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. His creative fusion of Japanese flavors and American style continues to captivate many fans.
